Ideal Candidates

Teens suffering through mild to severe acne or middle-aged women or men who are experiencing acne for the first time in their lives, or who are revisited by it once again as though they were teenagers. Anyone looking for an effective alternative to prescription antibiotics such as Accutane.

How it works

Acne Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments with Palomar® technology offers a long-term solution to acne by targeting and destroying acne bacteria. This treatment delivers a spectrum of light that is absorbed by porphyrins within skin, destroying P. acnes bacteria and inhibiting future acne breakouts. The new Cynosure MAX G hand-piece adds additional benefits to include a reduction in redness and inflammation of the skin. This treatment is painless, quick, and requires no down-time while providing amazing results within a few short treatments. This FDA approved technology provides up to 90% clearing of inflammatory acne lesions in 1/3 the time it takes for standard topical and oral treatments, without adverse side effects. While most antibiotics and topical creams only limit current acne break-outs, photo-therapy cures acne at the root of the problem to prevent current and future breakouts.

Typical Results

Reduction in redness, and inflammation in acne. Clearing of the skin caused by unwanted break outs, smaller appearance of pores, less oil production in skin and a reduction in pigmented acne scars.

After Care Information

Immediately after the treatments, there may be redness at the treatment area, which may last up to 2 or more hours. Use a cold compress if necessary. The use of aloe vera gel or sunburn cream can also be used to sooth the treated area.
