Kombucha for Skin – An Antioxidant – We are all looking for #thefountainofyouth. Some of us have found it here in Orlando at Winter Park Laser and are loving every minute of it! Some others still haven’t been that lucky. The Chinese found an age-defying elixir years ago, and it’s called Kombucha. So, why not combine them?!

When we talk about skin care in Orlando, there are many components to consider that go into good skin care. Some are things done in the office, and some out. One of those things is staying out of the sun. Another is keeping skin clean and rejuvenated through peels, facials, and our amazing SkinMedica in Orlando products. That’s why Winter Park Laser works hard to inform and educate all of our clients on the importance of in-office treatments paired with the perfect at-home skin care regime.

In our last blog about skin care tips, we named water as one of the best things you can do in addition to your skin care products. The second best ingestible (get it, sounds like injectable?) is Kombucha! This is a culture tea drink that has been around for centuries and has a variety of health benefits, but our favorite is what it can do for your skin.

Kombucha is known to improve skin elasticity, tone and color. It also acts as a moisturizer! People who drink kombucha on a regular basis also report a reduction in wrinkles, scarring, freckles, age spots and rashes. Why?

We <3 Antioxidants

In addition to being a natural probiotic, Kombucha is an antioxidant. Antioxidants are good for your skin for many reasons, one being that is reduces fine lines and wrinkles. That’s because antioxidants plump your skin! Antioxidants also stimulate blood flow, which encourages new cell growth. This means Kombucha can repair sun damage as well (seriously, wear sunscreen!) That’s why at Winter Park Laser, we suggest you pair your new HA5 hydrator with a kombucha drink in the mornings for maximum hydration!

People have even used Kombucha to treat difficult skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and acne.

A lot of people even put Kombucha directly onto their skin. We suggest against that, as Kombucha has high acid content. Let us tell you what to put on your skin, and keep the Kombucha for drinking.

While all of the SkinMedica Products we sell have done extensive clinical studies that prove the efficacy of them, there have not been as many peer-reviewed studies done on Kombucha. So we can promise you that your TNS Essential Serum and Lytera Kit are going to work wonders for you. And for the Kombucha, well, let’s just say we have some believers in the office.

So Where Do I Find It?

Kombucha has been gaining popularity fast and can now be found bottled and on tap around Winter Park and Downtown. Some of our favorites are Market on South, Debeni’s Latin Cafe & Bakery, Black Bean Deli, and Home Grown Co-op!
